SHFFT is a community of over one thousand Stanford and Harvard students, alumni, professors, venture capitalists, entrepreneurs, engineers, executives, journalists, policymakers, and others who are working on or interested in the future of transportation. The group has an active presence on both coasts.
Damien Scott (Stanford MS/MBA 2017) and Rob Toews (Harvard JD/MBA 2019) founded SHFFT in early 2016 in recognition of the fact that, after decades of relative stasis, the $2T automotive industry and $10T transportation industry are on the cusp of enormous change. This transformation is being driven by several interrelated technology and business model disruptions: vehicle autonomy, vehicle electrification, shared mobility, and vehicle-to-vehicle / vehicle-to-infrastructure connectivity. In the coming years, the way that people and things move around -- in many respects, the way that society functions -- will be completely revolutionized.
